Jamie Lynn Spears' daughter Maddie Aldridge is finally leaving the hospital and flashing a huge smile after surviving her life-threatening ATV accident. The singer and actress shared a photo of her family leaving the hospital with Maddie after a stressful week of praying for the recovery of her eight-year-old daughter.
On Friday afternoon, Jamie Lynn Spears uploaded a photo of her family posing with the rescue helicopter that brought her daughter Maddie Aldridge to the University and Children's Hospital in New Orleans, Louisiana on Sunday, and wrote that they are finally heading home. Maddie is sitting in the passenger seat of the helicopter and can be seen giving a big smile to the camera, looking as healthy as ever!
We are headed home with our baby girl as she continues to recover. Above all else we are so thankful for each and every prayer, because we know that is what truly made the difference. Thank you again to everyone. We are truly blessed.
A couple days ago, Maddie Aldridge's stepdad Jamie Watson shared that Maddie has been getting better and better since the accident, and the hospital reported that she was recovering well and they had not found signs of any cognitive damage. It looks like the good news kept coming for little Maddie, and now she's on her way to recover in her own home.
Maddie's aunt Britney Spears also shared the good news on Instagram, thanking her followers for sending her family love and support during the trying week.
Maddie Aldridge's return home comes five days after she was airlifted to the hospital from her family's property in Kentwood, Louisiana after she was involved in an ATV accident. Maddie accidentally drove her ATV into a pond and remained submerged in the water for a length of time as neither she nor her nearby family could free her from the seatbelt and ATV safety netting. An ambulance arrived minutes later to save Maddie, and she was transported to a medical facility in New Orleans to help her recover and check for any physical or mental damage.
Thankfully Maddie looks healthy and happy on her way home from the hospital, although Jamie Lynn Spears' post does say that her daughter has some more recovering to do at home. We're wishing her a speedy recovery!
