Police in Savannah, Georgia, recently arrested Shia LaBeouf on charges of public intoxication, disorderly conduct, and obstruction. They later released the 31-year-old actor when he posted his $7,000 bail. The ordeal began when someone turned down LaBeouf's request for a cigarette. Reports said LaBeouf became so irate that police had to step in, and when they did, he ran to a nearby hotel to hide. Now a recording of the incident has leaked. It does, indeed, show LeBeouf going off on a rant, and it paints a pretty dark picture of LaBeouf's behavior during his early morning arrest. Watch the NSFW video here:
Shia LaBeouf filled the rant with bizarre statements. In the video, which TMZ posted, you can hear LaBeouf kick off the arrest in the hotel by shouting,
I have rights! I'm an American. You got me in my hotel, arresting me in my hotel for doing what, Sir? ... I'm a fucking American, I pay my taxes, get these shits (handcuffs) off my fucking arm.
Then when the police apprehended him, he continued shouting about nonsensical issues. He yelled,
You got a president who don't give a shit about you, and you stuck in police force that don't give a fuck about you. So you wanna arrest white people who give a fuck and ask for cigarettes. I came up to you trying to be nice you stupid bitch. I came up to you to to ask for a cigarette you dumb fuck. Why would I ask for a cigarette if I were racist? ... I got more millionaire lawyers than you know what to do with you stupid bitch.
In recent times, Shia LaBeouf has been confronting issues such as politics and race. However, it does not seem to be boding well for him. Back in February, he got arrested at a protest of Donald Trump that he arranged. Then in March, he caused a scene at a bowling alley in Los Angeles and called a server racist. In April, he nearly sabotaged one of his art installation works by responding to social media users who showed up to taunt him about his ethnicity and views on politics.
Before this year's arrests, Shia LaBeouf had several brushes with the law. He got arrested twice in his youth for shoplifting. In LaBeouf's early twenties, he got arrested for trying to stab his roommate. He got arrested at a Walgreens in Chicago for making a scene while drunk. Then he got arrested again for causing a scene at a Broadway performance of Cabaret and spitting on a cop after being escorted out of the theater.
Not all of Shia LaBeouf's antics have resulted in arrests, but he has wound up in several troublesome situations because of his behavior. For example, LaBeouf reportedly got into a physical altercation with his Lawless co-star, Tom Hardy. He supposedly fought with and threatened Mia Goth, who is now his wife, when they were in Germany a couple of years ago, and she apparently ended up with a black eye during that trip. Plus, LaBeouf reportedly lost his cool with a homeless man in New York City a few years ago.
A lot of Shia LaBeouf's issues seem to happen when he has become aggressive while drinking. In 2016, LaBeouf spoke out about seeking support to overcome alcohol addiction, and at that time, he said he had been sober for about a year. Here's hoping he can find the help he needs to get back on track.
