Caitlyn Jenner Opens Up About Estrangement From The Kardashians

Caitlyn Jenner I Am Cait

Caitlyn Jenner hasn't remained close with the Kardashians since the release of her memoir, The Secrets of My Life. The 2017 book, which made controversial claims about the Keeping Up with the Kardashians household, was denounced by Kris Jenner, Kim Kardashian West and Khloe Kardashian shortly after its anticipated release. Since then, Caitlyn Jenner hasn't kept herself in constant communication with certain members of the famous family, nor has she kept herself in the spotlight quite as often. In a recent confessional interview, Caitlyn Jenner opened up about her life and where she stands with the Kardashian clan. Forthright as usual, Caitlyn wasn't afraid to be candid, and she was open about how tough it's been to stay connected with her kids. Here's what she had to say.

I spend a lot of time by myself here in the house. I have a lot of children, but sometimes just because of circumstances, maintaining a close relationship with your kids is very tough. They all have lives. They've all moved on.

As she admits in the interview with Broadly, Caitlyn Jenner is focusing a lot of her time on The Caitlyn Jenner Foundation, which seeks to improve the lives of transgender community, while also using her platform to raise awareness and to bring understanding. The charity offers grants to organizations that provide services like healthcare, suicide prevention and housing to transgender people in the Los Angeles area. But Jenner has received criticism for her support of the Republican party, particularly as she voted for President Donald Trump in the 2016 election, with members inside the trans community believing she had compromising their fight for social justice. In response to these claims and her status with the Kardashians, Caitlyn Jenner had the following comments to say.

I got the trans community out there bashing on me, I got the Kardashians out there bashing on me. All I do is sit here in the house and try to stay out of trouble.

That said, as noted by W Magazine, Caitlyn Jenner hasn't been completely removed from the Kardashian household. She remains close to Kylie Jenner, her youngest daughter, as proven by a photo shared on Mother's Day where the I Am Cait star was holding Kylie Jenner's newborn baby, Stormi Webster. Caitlyn Jenner also responded warmly to the news of her newest granddaughter. While Caitlyn Jenner remains estranged with members of the family -- with Kim Kardashian West, in particular not remaining close and reportedly speaking spoken in over a year -- she recognizes that time is fleeting and that family matters most. As Caitlyn confesses later in the interview, she would like to reconnect with her daughters and form a healthy bond. But it's hard to know when that will happen, exactly. Here's what she said.

We're just human beings; we're going to be here for a very short time. We come and we go and at the end, when it's all said and done, hopefully your family is going to be there.

We'll keep you posted on any additional updates with Caitlyn Jenner and the Kardashian/Jenner clan here at CinemaBlend.
