Alec Baldwin Says He Could Be Elected President

In recent years, Alec Baldwin has received a great deal of notoriety for his much-discussed impersonation of President Donald Trump on Saturday Night Live. The actor won an Emmy last year for his broad portrayal of the political character, and he also recently co-wrote a parody memoir, You Can't Spell America Without Me: The Really Tremendous Inside Story of My Fantastic First Year as President Donald J. Trump, while in character as the often-seen media figure (alongside Kurt Andersen). But if ever pushed (like Trump) into running for the presidency, Alec Baldwin is similar to his subject in that he firmly believes he would, unquestionably, win the contentious position. And he believes his own campaign would be even more insane than the one Donald Trump had in his journey to the White House.

During a recent appearance on The Howard Stern Show, Alec Baldwin claimed he would crush the election if he put himself into the race. The Match Game host also believes he's one of only a few people who could actually beat Donald Trump.

While Alec Baldwin is exceptionally confident about his chances of taking over the White House, the actor stresses that he has no real political ambitions at the moment. The reason Baldwin isn't planning to put himself into the game? Predominately, his family. His wife, Hilaria Baldwin, wouldn't want him to run, and it's evident that Baldwin would much rather spend time with his children than stay trapped inside the White House, especially during the summertime. Alec Baldwin is also keeping very busy, particularly with his game show and his new talk show in the works. The married couple say three young children together: Carmen Gabriela (4), Rafael Thomas (2) and Leonardo Angel (1). The Baldwins are also expecting a four child together. Alec Baldwin is also the father of 22-year-old model Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger.

Alec Baldwin claims he's so confident about his strong chances of winning the U.S. presidency because there are no clear nominees in place for the Democratic party, though he hopes "someone great" will show up soon. If he were to run for the presidency, though, Baldwin would like to run to have things to be "common sense" under his leadership.

Don't expect President Alec Baldwin anytime soon, but if the actor want a seat at the White House, it's evident that he's very, very confident about his chances of winning the position. In the meantime, however, Baldwin will next be seen in Mission: Impossible - Fallout, which storms into theaters on July 27th. He's also soon expected to be seen in Drunk Parents alongside Selma Hayek later this year. Baldwin is also currently filming roles in Edward Norton's Motherless Brooklyn and in the upcoming biopic Lamborghini, where he plays Enzo Ferrari. The actor is also signed on to appear in The Boss Baby 2.
