Jenelle Evans Claims She Has PTSD After Pulling Gun Out In Road Rage

Jenelle Evans Teen Mom 2

For the recent cast reunion episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle Evans was interviewed by Dr. Drew Pinsky, who visited the reality TV personality in North Carolina when she opted (or flat-out refused) to travel to New York City to conduct the interview. During the conversation, the television personality opened up about the road rage incident that was captured on camera. It was a moment where Evan pulled a gun out while her nine-year-old son, Jace, was sitting next to her in the car. The footage of the gun wasn't shown on the MTV reality series -- instead, showing a black title card that read "Jenelle pulled out her firearm" -- but it had a real impact on the people involved. Specifically, Evans claimed that the whole incident gave her PTSD.

I've been having nightmares. When the incident happened, I didn't even leave my house for the first, like, two weeks.

The incident, which occurred in April, still leaves Jenelle Evans shaken up, as it was reported by Entertainment Tonight. Evans claims that she was following the driver that sparked her anger, because she was concerned that they almost injured her son. That's reportedly what sparked her decision to pull out her firearm, even with her son close by.

At the time, Janelle Evans claimed her son was lying when he reported that she pulled out her gun, fearing that the police would "the wrong thing" if they knew that she had pulled out her weapon during that moment in time. She claims that Jace has since been attending therapy sessions of his own, and working through it. Thankfully, no one was injured by the road rage incident, and MTV wasn't shy about hyping up the situation in the days leading up to that episode. She Evans tells it,

I was really desperate at the time. And when he said, 'Oh yeah, Mommy pulled out a gun.' I was like, 'No, I didn't. Why did you say that?' Because I don't want to get arrested for something stupid.

When Jenelle Evans was asked why she carried the gun in the first place, she admitted that she doesn't feel safe without her husband, David Eason. In this open conversation, Evans also discussed the controversial statements her husband made. She wanted people to know that she carries a permit to carry a concealed weapon, and she claims that her gun goes with her "where I go."

This incident is not the first time Jenelle Evans has found herself in controversy recently. During a podcast appearance earlier in the year, she admitted that she tested positive for Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), a chemical in cannabis known for treating nausea and vomiting, while she was pregnant with her third child, her 1-year-old daughter Ensley. Evans admitted that she received visits from Child Protective Services because of this drug test result.
