Childish Gambino Includes Kanye West, Nicki Minaj And More In New Music Video

Labor Day weekend marks the unofficial last call of summer. The pools are closing. The wind is starting to blow in the trees (assuming, of course, that we are not expecting another late fall like last year). And we are preparing ourselves for the colder, chiller months of the year. With that in mind, Childish Gambino has finally released the music video for his single "Feels Like Summer," a song the musician dropped earlier this season. Unlike the extraordinary, excellent "This is America" video from the spring, the new animated video is a lot more subdued in its presentation, but it's no less captivating.

Featuring a variety of cameos from prominent artists and celebrities, including Will Smith, Beyonce Knowles, Drake, Nicki Minaj and a tearful Kanye West, to only name a few, it's a truly star-studded affair. And, much like the "This is America" music video, it's one you need to watch and rewatch again and again to really absorb its full thematic weight and emotional power. You should be sure to check it out, below.

The list of cameos in "Feels Like Summer" is quite extensive. But the music video, which was directed by Childish Gambino himself, Donald Glover, alongside Ivan Dixon and Greg Sharp, features Gambino taking a light stroll around an animated suburban town as he passes a variety of familiar faces, which include (but certainly aren't limited to): Travis Scott, A$AP Rocky, Solange, Future, Jay-Z, Chance the Rapper, Janelle Monae, 21 Savage, and Lil Uzi Vert, in addition to the aforementioned Will Smith, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Beyonce Knowles and a crying Kanye West, in a "Make America Great Again" hat, receiving a hug from Michelle Obama. The video also features tributes to artists who are no longer with us, including Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston and XXXTentacion, who passed away only a few months ago.

"Feels Like Summer" might be featured on Childish Gambino's forthcoming album, which the artist has been teasing since it was first announced close to a year ago. The still-untitled album doesn't have an official release date, but it is predicted to be released sooner rather than later, especially considering that Childish Gambino starts going on tour this Thursday, when he performs in Chicago. The five-week tour will also see Childish Gambino appearing in Boston, New York City, Dallas, Seattle, Inglewood, San Jose, Glendale and Nashville, which is where he will end his tour on October 12th.

The upcoming album is expected to be the last from Donald Glover, at least under his "Childish Gambino" moniker. Since the album was announced, he has also released "Summertime Magic" and "Saturday," the latter of which was performed for the first time on Saturday Night Live when Glover shared hosting and musical guest duties on the popular episode of the late-night variety and sketch comedy series.

Donald Glover/Childish Gambino is never less than busy these days, especially as the creator and lead actor on FX's acclaimed Atlanta, which premiered its second season earlier this year, and as the latest actor to portray Lando Calrissian in this summer's blockbuster prequel, Solo: A Star Wars Story. That said, we should expect to hear the beloved musician's latest album any day now. Maybe any second now, based on how quickly albums get dropped nowadays without notice.
