Meg Ryan is getting ready to walk down the aisle again. As it was announced on social media yesterday, Ryan is set to marry her partner, musician John Mellencamp, with whom she has shared an on-and-off relationship throughout the past few years. Here's what we know about their engagement.
The engagement news was confirmed on Instagram when Meg Ryan posted the following crudely animated drawing with the not-so-subtle caption: "ENGAGED!" Check out the image below.

One would assume that the nuptials ceremony will arrive sometime in the spring, but that's not at all confirmed.

To be a little more precise, the Sleepless in Seattle actress and the singer-songwriter were dating for three years before they called off their relationship in 2014. Then, after several years spent apart, they rekindled their love in May of last year. Now, they plan to let their lovey-dovey feelings last for the long-term as they embark on married life.
It will be the second time Meg Ryan has said "I do," as she was previously married to fellow actor Dennis Quaid for several years. They tied the knot in 1991 after they met on the set of D.O.A. in 1988. The marriage lasted nine years before they got divorced in 2000. Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid share one son together, Jack Quaid (23), who is also an actor. During an appearance on Megyn Kelly Today a few months ago, Dennis Quaid discussed his failed marriage to Meg Ryan in an open and confessional manner, admitting that he considers himself the one to blame for the fractured relationship.

For John Mellencamp, meanwhile, the musician has been married several times before. He was linked with Priscilla Esterline from 1970 to 1981. Then Mellencamp was hitched to Victoria Granucci from 1981 to 1989. Then, most recently, he was married to Elaine Irwin from 1992 to 2011. He started to date Meg Ryan shortly after that marriage dissolved. And then they first broke up, Mellencamp started dating model Christie Brinkley for about a year.
