Adam Lambert is out of jail and in good spirits after a strange night in Europe left the twenty-nine year old pop star incarcerated. The weirdness started on Wednesday at the Don’t Tell Mama gay bar in Helsinki, Finland. Lambert was there with his boyfriend, Sauli Koskinen, former Miss Helsinki Sofia Ruusila and a few other randoms when an argument started for unknown reasons. Yelling gave way to shoving, and when Ruusila stepped in to try and separate Lambert and Koskinen, she was mistakenly struck. Employees gave everyone involved the boot, but when the disagreement continued outside, the police showed up.

Lambert and Koskinen were both booked, but according to The Los Angeles Times, each was released without any charges being filed. That’s probably a good thing. A pattern of drunken and awful behavior should have serious consequences, but a random awful night without any serious injuries should be a slap on the wrist. Besides, if Lambert is to be believed, he learned his lesson. Here’s what he had to say on Twitter
Jetlag+Vodka=blackout. Us÷blackout=irrational confusion. jail+guilt+press=lesson learned. Sauli+Adam+hangover burgers= laughing bout it. :)

I know that might not sound like the most heartfelt mea culpa of all-time, but for a fierce gay dude with awesome hair and millions of fans responding to an incident that ended with a slap on the wrist, this apology is halfway decent. Here’s to hoping it’s the last of its kind for awhile. Lambert certainly has better things to do than accidentally hit beauty pageant winners.
