The Black Eyed Peas are playing nice. Just weeks after pulling out of the Michael Jackson tribute concert at the expense of more than a million dollars, the pop group is trying to spin the break-up allegations into a logical explanation for why they obviously need to part ways. Whether or not Fergie and company successfully accomplished that goal probably depends on how much you trust their words.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the bulk of those words came from leader who explained the band will take an indefinite hiatus after a final concert in Miami on Wednesday because that’s the formula that caters itself to making successful music. Here’s an excerpt…
”We always have two cycles of records and then we take a break. And then two cycles of records and then a break. When we take breaks you know, we work on side projects and get our personal stuff in order then come back and make beautiful music. We think beautiful music.”

I really want to believe Sometimes getting away from a band (read: the other members) can be the best thing for long-term health, but it seems like relations must be strained horribly if they couldn’t get their acts together long enough to make a truckload of money playing in honor of a mutual influence. I think this could well be the last we see of the Peas.

I could be wrong though. has proven pretty honest in the past, and he and the rest of his crew could come back ready to go in a few years. What do you think? Will the Black Eyed Peas ever get back together? Sound off by voting in the poll below…
