I’ve always found the method celebrities announce their pregnancy with fascinating; do they have their publicist make a statement? Do they drop a line to People? Or do they go straight to the audience and announce it at a concert in front of hundreds, if not thousands, of fans? Well, each has its own rewards, I’m sure, but Fantasia Barrino opted for the latter, announcing her pregnancy during a charity concert in Jacksonville, Florida.

The Hollywood Reporter has the story, and had the video of Fantasia’s announcement until it was removed by the YouTube user for who knows what reason. THR was able to snag the key quote out of the video for your convenience, check out what the American Idol said below,
"You are the first persons that I share this news with."

"And I share this with you because I can relate to you. And for a while I walked around figuring out what will they say and what will they think about me. But now I tell you I don't live my life for folk."

"So, this child that I carry – God has given me this child. And I don't have to hide it from none of y'all."
Other than saying persons instead of people, the most peculiar thing about this announcement is not naming the father of the baby. Not that she’s required to tell us all whose baby she’s carrying, but it is typically a part of the pregnancy announcement process. I'd understand if it was Chernabog (pictured above), but barring a giant animated demon being the father of her child, you'd think she'd fess up!
