Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl keeps a pair of Brian May's underpants hanging on a door in his Los Angeles home as a reminder of their time recording together at the property.

The rocker has become firm friends with the Queen star after performing and recording music together over the years, including a cover of Pink Floyd's Have A Cigar in 2000. Grohl recalls one particular recording session at his home studio when May turned up in his running gear and decided to change before work. The guitarist accidentally left one of his bags behind - and Grohl took the opportunity to snoop inside and take a pair of his green underpants.

He tells Britain's Elle magazine, "That's Brian May's underpants. We hang them up there like mistletoe. Brian came down to play on the record and he shows up at the studio wearing running shorts, socks and sneakers, with two huge bags. So he puts the bags down and says, 'I'm going to change my clothes,' then comes back in these, like, MC Hammer pants, plays the lead, hangs out and then has to split. An hour later, he called and said, 'You guys, I left one of my bags in the room, just leave it in there, I'll come back and get it.' So I was, like, OK, and hung up the phone and looked in there. And there they were." (KD/EMEN/LR)
