Shortly after George Clooney started dating Stacy Keibler, Us Weekly ran a report alleging recently booted Dancing With The Stars contestant Elisabetta Canalis bombarded the movie star with stream of pointed and angry text messages. Some months ago, members of the press were openly speculating that Canalis could have been the woman to finally get Clooney to walk down the aisle. Obviously, the relationship soured, but if you believe Us Weekly, a better phrase for what happened might involve gangrenous. Well, don’t believe everything you read.

At least that’s the message Clooney is telling people. The star, likely to pick up another Oscar Nomination for The Descendants broke his own rules of never commenting on his personal life to tell TMZ the report is a entirely made up.
"(The story) was completely fabricated in order to sell magazines. I never comment on my personal life unless it affects others...and this lie affects others."

The silver fox later went on to demand Us Weekly post a retraction since he’s “the only actual witness” and is denying the texts were ever sent. George Clooney is a good dude. He might be allergic to marriage, but stepping up and clearing the air for his former girlfriend was the right thing to do. Had she done it, people may not have believed her, but considering Clooney’s long history of “no comments”, his words really do carry a lot of weight.

So, in case you missed those last few paragraphs. Elisabetta Canalis is not a jealous psycho. Good to know.
