Invasion of the Body Snatchers star Dana Wynter died last Thursday, May 5th at the Ojai Valley Community Hospital in Ojai, California due to congestive heart failure. The German born, British actress was best known for her leading role in the sci-fi movie Invasion of the Body Snatchers as Becky Driscoll.

Beginning her career in 1951, the beautiful actress started off in smaller roles on British films, often uncredited, until she moved to New York City in November of 1953. In that year, she had more success in television, staring in shows like Suspense and Studio One.

After two years in New York, Dana moved to Los Angeles where she signed a contract with 20th Century Fox and had her first break-out roles in major films. From 1956 to 1963 she starred in movies like: Something to Value, In Love and War, Fräulein, Shake Hands with the Devil, and On the Double among others. In 1955 she received the Golden Globe award for "Most Promising Newcomer." Passing away at age 79, Dana Wynter’s had a lifelong career in television, theater, and movies; she will be missed.
