Jillian Michaels And Heidi Rhoades Have A Baby And Adopt Another Days Apart

Two years ago, former Biggest Loser coach Jillian Michaels and her partner Heidi Rhoades decided to adopt a child. They filled out the paperwork, did all the prep work and waited. During that process, Rhoades got pregnant, and through an utterly strange coincidence, the family wound up getting both children just a few days apart.

According to E! Online, Rhoades gave birth to a son at the beginning of May named Phoenix. Shortly thereafter, the family was finally given the go ahead to bring home a two-year-old girl from Haiti named Lukensia, and now they’re all happy and together for the first time in Los Angeles.

Michaels was very open when she left Biggest Loser about wanting to take time off to start a family. At some point, it seems likely she’ll return to the public eye in some fitness-related way, but for the time being, she’s more focused on meeting the needs of her children.

“I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don’t want to rush any of it.”

Pop Blend sends out its sincerest congratulations to Michaels and Rhoades. If Jillian has shown one thing through her years on television, it’s that few people are more determined to meet a goal than she is. Like a ravenous and determined animal, she does whatever she sets her mind too. Motherhood will be a whole lot harder than losing weight, but something tells me she and Rhoades will do just fine.
