When an actor stars in one of the summer’s biggest blockbusters, playing six degrees of separation becomes headline news. Such is the case for Johnny Depp, who reprises his role as Captain Jack Sparrow in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides in which he leads an expedition to hunt for the elusive Fountain of Youth. If Disney had their way he would be hunting for Walt Disney World instead of the fabled Floridian folly, but I digress. A researcher from the U.K.’s Sunday Mirror found a link between Depp and the royal family.
"I've since established the family tree that demonstrates how,” Barratt said. “You have to go back more than 500 years to reach the point where his ancestors become royal."
So, Johnny Depp can now toss on his resume that he and Queen Elizabeth share the same great (x19) grandfather which makes them twentieth cousins. Someone, quick, go tell the queen. Perhaps this will give her the chance to knight Johnny, as has been done to many other great "British actors' (Depp himself was born in Kentucky, although he has British heritage). Or maybe it'll JUST give Depp an excuse to remake King Ralph.

Johnny Depp can next be seen in the aforementioned Pirates film on May 26th, or 365 days a year as an audio-animatronic at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim California - in case you need a Captain Jack fix without watching a mediocre adventure flick.
