After a week of slanderous allegations and denials, pop star Justin Bieber has decided to take a paternity test to prove he is not the father of Mariah Yeater’s baby. It’s likely, had he not volunteered to do so, he could have avoided it for months or even permanently if a judge decided there was no evidence to support Yeater’s claim, but ultimately, he thought it was best to clear the whole mess up once and for all. The Biebs is in Europe for the next few weeks, but he’s reportedly instructed the attorneys to find a serviceable lab so he can offer a sample as soon as he’s back.

According to TMZ, Bieber has a second part to his plan too. Once the results come back verifying he is not the father, the musician will immediately file a lawsuit against Yeater for her slanderous lies. He’s supposedly determined to ward off any other baseless claims that might be brought against him in the future, and a judgment against his current accuser would likely keep the wackos at bay.

Sources are saying Yeater’s attorney looked visibly flustered by Justin’s sudden insistence on getting a paternity test, but as there were no cameras present for the meeting, it’s impossible to know whether there’s any validity to that nervousness. If there is, shame on him for taking the case and shame on Yeater for inventing the entire story.

Bieber could have simply acted above this situation and not lowered himself to answer the charges, but he’s decided to fight them head on. Do you think it’s the right decision? Sound off by voting in the poll below…
