Do you like bizarre art work? Or maybe album covers that remind you of a bad acid trip? Well, look no further. The heavy metal outfit Mastodon has released the record info from their latest effort The Hunter. As shown above, you can see that their cover is like a horrifying mix between a bull, a cow, and the titular animal the band's name is based off of. The pictured beast has three lower jaws, scales, and creepy eyes that make looking at it a chore. Leave it to them to bring together an image that not only gives me the creeps, but probably describes the music on this record fairly well.

Mastodon is known for its heavy metal slanted progressive rock music that features lush sounds, changing time signatures and odd instrumentation. Providing a fresh take on their developed sound, this new record supposedly plays like a heavier spin on Led Zeppelin that will likely please many of their fans. Who can ask for more from a band? Radically changing a sound is great, yet will their creepy album covers prevent most people from ever giving this group a chance? If the fact of them being considered a progressive sludge metal band doesn’t keep you away, then those covers probably will.

The Georgia based group has proven to be a smash hit among the metal genre anyways despite their fascination with bizarre LP covers. Yesterday the band tweeted about their new record's track listing, and now everyone can see the thirteen titles. Also, compliments of the official Mastodon website, you can now listen to their newest song “Black Tongue.” If you haven’t been creeped out by this article yet; then here is the track listing :
