This week’s return of Two And A Half Men was a ratings bonanza. I, along with nearly thirty million other curious souls, watched Thomas Gibson, John Stamos, Jenna Elfman and several other celebrities pave the way for Ashton Kutcher’s emergence into the Harper’s formulaic lives, but apparently, at least one more celebrity was invited to the party. Wild Things star and Charlie Sheen ex-wife Denise Richards was zealously pursued by the show to play one of the ex-girlfriends at the funeral, but she quietly passed, even as producers upped their offer.

According to E!, the check eventually reached one hundred thousand dollars to film one cameo, but Richards never even considered accepting. Sources told the cable news network she feared Charlie wouldn’t have been too pleased with her appearance. That hypothetical anger stands in stark contrast to reports of Charlie actually watching Men himself and giving the show a vote of confidence, but I can definitely see how there might be a chasm between that public face and a response to a former spouse publicly profiting from his downfall.

The television viewer in me wishes Richards had hopped aboard and gotten in a few snarky zingers, but the family man in me is glad she didn’t. She and Sheen have reportedly been getting along great in recent months. He even let her move rent free into a home on his block so the family could spend more time together. A hundred thousand dollars may seem like a lot of money to us, but to Richards, it’s a drop in the bucket. I begrudgingly condone her decision, but what do you think? Should she have made an appearance on Two And A Half Men? Sound off by voting in the poll below…
