Jessica Simpson is taking 14,000 baby steps a day toward her goal of shedding the pregnancy weight, and while that might not be the way a supermodel would do it, the plan is the right one for her. The Weight Watchers approved outline allows her to walk instead of run, eat the occasional pack of M&Ms and lose pounds at a steady, consistent pace.

Speaking to USA Today, the new mom said she’s eating less of everything but not completely depriving herself, except when it comes to macaroni n cheese. It was the starlet’s food of choice during her pregnancy, but she’s decided it’s best to completely avoid it for the time being. In its place are 28 Weight Watchers points a day plus unlimited fruits and vegetables.

As for her workout routine, Simpson is not running on account of her boobs, but she is walking 14,000 steps a day and monitoring her progress with a pedometer. She is also seeing a personal trainer four or five times a week to do simple body-toning workouts. That last part might not seem like something the average woman would be able to do, but all in all, Simpson still considers herself a normal girl doing the best she can for the right reasons.
”I'm not a supermodel. My body is not bouncing back like a supermodel. I'm just your everyday woman who is trying to feel good and be healthy for her daughter, her fiancé and herself."

The actress/ singer’s commercials for Weight Watchers will begin appearing next week. No doubt fans will be able to track her progress that way and through many more interviews like this one.
