When one belongs to a conservative dressing family, in order to stand out, one must really get into the idea of accessorizing and more importantly, accessorizing carefully. Take Kate Middleton, for example. She belongs to an über-conservative dressing family that often must wear weird little hats to events. Between the quaint looking hats and the super boring color palate of the royal family, accessorizing is key. It took a while to get into the right accessorizing groove, but, by golly, I think Middleton may have finally gotten it.

On Tuesday, Prince William and his lovely wife headed to a dinner event in London, where The Duchess wore a long-sleeved and very demure cream gown by Roland Mouret. According to E!, the dinner event was hosted by the Thirty Club, an exclusive little clan the Prince only recently decided to join. Since the event was all about the Prince, Middleton didn’t really need to stand out. Instead, she opted to make a statement with a sparkly pair of Jimmy Choo shoes.

Sure, Jimmy Choo’s are more well-known than they are a choice of the bold. However, with a staggering 4 ½ inch heel height and a ton of attached glitter, the sparkly shoes are a step in the right direction, and for roughly $750 bucks, they had better be. A little glam never hurt anyone. Just ask David Bowie.
