Here’s a question. What would a group of Country music artists call a wedding at their southern home: a country hoe-down, a southern delight? Or is it, a corn bread and chicken extravaganza? Country stars Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are finally married as of Saturday, May 14th.

The singers have been dating since 2006 and exchanged their vows at the Don Strange Ranch in Boerne, Texas for a crowd of 550 friends and family. In attendance at the wedding were other country stars like Reba McEntire, Martina McBride, Dierks Bentley, Charles Kelly and the Bellamy Brothers. The eccentric Soul artist Cee Lo Green was also there, supporting his fellow judge from NBC’s The Voice.

According to Shelton, tying the knot was a very special moment for him. He explains to US Magazine that “I wanted to be married to Miranda the day I proposed. Finally, it's official! I'm married to my best friend! Looking forward to a lifetime of laughter.” Having to battle a series of unfortunate events recently, it’s comforting to know that the country star has put those allegations behind him and moved on to, hopefully, a lifelong matrimony.

The ceremony was also under Twitter blackout, according to Deadbolt news. The wedding was not trending on twitter last night, which meant nobody at the ceremony was using their fancy phones to tweet, keeping the media hawks from devouring the news while it was happening. The She Wouldn't Be Gone hit maker can now ride horses and sleep under the Texas stars with his “southern belle” bride in peace.
