Subscribe To Breaking In's Seth Gordon Lands New Comedy Project Bastards At Fox Updates
Despite the mainstream success of Horrible Bosses, director Seth Gordon’s known for tackling some weird projects, including the oddly compelling The King of Kong documentary (I have a secret wish to attempt a Billy Mitchell costume this Halloween). His newest project will take him to Fox TV, where he and Butter writer Jason Micallef will put together a new single camera comedy project for the network called Bastards.

I’m guessing if the network chooses to pick up the project to pilot, there will be no way in hell the Bastards name will stand. I guess they could go for a bunch of random characters like the former comedy $#*! My Dad Says or even those hideous lines Don't Trust the B---- in Apartment 23 favors. Bastards will no doubt figure out its own way, and if it actually makes it to series, it sounds pretty weird. According to Deadline, which is being described as a show that will follow a really weird family unit where the members “have never met.”

Gordon will direct the project, and will executive produce alongside Micallef, Jamie Tarses, Trevor Engelson and Josh McGuire. While Gordon and Micallef are most often associated with their movie work, Gordon has had some success at Fox in the past as the co-creator and executive producer of Breaking In. Fox actually waffled a lot with that comedy before its second season, which may explain why the show did far poorer in its second ratings at bat. Here’s to hoping that if Bastards gets picked up to pilot, it will get fairer treatment at the network, and maybe a few random $%&! characters, too.
