Chazz Palminteri Suits Up For Blue Bloods Season 3

Veteran actor Chazz Palminteri is headed to Blue Bloods for a Season 3 guest starring role. On CBS’ drama, which follows a family of cops, the actor will play a member of the mob—well, sort of. In the New York-based series, the actor will play a lawyer who represents mob interests in the city. It sounds like Palminteri’s tough guy attitude will come in handy with the role.

Palminteri is probably more known for his film roles, including The Usual Suspects and A Bronx Tale. However, in recent years, he’s taken more TV roles, including recurring guest appearances in TNT’s Rizzoli and Isles and ABC’s Modern Family. The latter show finds the man as a character with a love of fashion and an obsession with looking neat. While I love Palminteri as Jay’s friend, Shorty, I think the Blue Bloods gig will definitely be more in keeping with most of the man’s other roles.

CBS is keeping a lot of the details concerning the Blue Bloods role under wraps, but according to EW, the guest role will bring up a past relationship between the mob lawyer and law enforcement’s head honcho, Frank Reagan, played by Tom Selleck. The episode is set to air January 13, and I can’t wait to see what the actor can do with the role. Namely, I can’t wait to see if Selleck’s character and Palminteri’s go way back in a friendly way or in a problematic one.

CBS’ Blue Bloods airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET.
