Matt Damon Takes Over Jimmy Kimmel Live, Celebrities Show Up To Support Him

As expected, Matt Damon made his planned appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight. That's actually putting it mildly. He didn't just appear. He hijacked the show, wheeling a bound and gagged Jimmy Kimmel out onto the stage and then proceeded to host the star-studded episode on his own. Check out part of his opening monologue ahead.

Spoilers if you haven't watched the episode yet!

For years, Jimmy Kimmel has been bumping Matt Damon from his late night talk show after running out of time. It's a long-running gag that's been the source of some memorable and hilarious moments for the show. Damon got his revenge tonight when he kidnapped Jimmy and took over his show, retitling Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jimmy Kimmel Sucks. Below is a snippet of Damon's opening monologue, which includes one of the numerous celebrity guest appearances.

Ben Affleck!

The whole episode was like one long comedy sketch, with Damon as the star and Kimmel playing a tied up piece of scenery in the background (or a "captive audience"). There were a few sketches worked into the episode, including "footage" of Jimmy reading for roles in Good Will Hunting and The Adjustment Bureau. Among the celebrity guests interviewed on the show were Amy Adams, Nicole Kidman, Reese Witherspoon, Demi Moore, Sarah Silverman and Gary Oldman. There were also video testimonials from celebrities supporting Damon, including Oprah, Don Cheadle, John Krasinski and Kimmel's parents. Other celebrities dropped by throughout, including Robin Williams and Andy Garcia, the latter of whom replaced Jimmy's sidekick Guillermo. Cleto was replaced by Sheryl Crow. Damon really doesn't do things halfway, does he?

Matt was going to interview Jimmy at the end... but he ran out of time.

Things should be back to normal tomorrow night on JKL, but tonight, it was all about Damon on Jimmy Kimmel Live Sucks.
