Check Out How To Be A Crime Boss In New Lilyhammer Clip

Hey Netflix subscribers, remember last month when we let loose the fact that Netflix’s first original series Lilyhammer is returning to the schedule? Well, we are less than two weeks out from the Season 2 premiere of the series, and Netflix has put together a special clip from the December 13 premiere episode to share with fans. Yes, that’s a Friday release date, and yes that’s annoying, but on the bright side, fans have binge viewing to look forward to, starting with the above original clip.

When last we left off, New York mobster Frank “The Fixer” Tagliano (Steven Van Zandt) was slowly adjusting to life in Lillehammer, Norway, taking on the false identity Johnny Henriksen. Clearly, the man has had trouble living a crime-free existence as part of the witness protection program, and the clip from Season 2 shows just how well he has adjusted to his new life. The camera starts with shots of the city and then pans to a disgruntled townie, who is relating a story about how the police have been inept recently. Some troublemakers were causing noise problems near his home and eventually even kicked his dog, but the police did nothing. This is where Henriksen steps in, looking dapper in a bowtie and a tux. The only thing this sequence is missing is some Paul Kaye; regardless, it’s still a nice introduction to the tone and pace of the show.

New episodes of Lilyhammer have been in the works for quite a while. The show was renewed for a second season soon after hitting the schedule early in 2012. However, it’s taken quite some time to get the second set of eight episodes together, mostly thanks to Van Zandt’s fine work in the musical community, where he plays guitar and sometime the mandolin for Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. His touring schedule conflicted with shooting the new series until recently. Thankfully, new episodes are almost here, and there’s a full trailer to check out to boot. Keep in mind, there are some f-bombs in the trailer, so it’s probably NSFW.

Lilyhammer returns to the schedule on December 13 at 12:01 a.m. This season, Frank’s former mob associates determine he’s still alive, so look for plenty of hijinks to occur during the eight episodes.
