Watch Wendy Williams Literally Eat Crow

One of the hazards of being a daytime talk show host is that, as a professional speaking in front of millions of people, one really must be careful with one’s words. For months, Wendy Williams, the host of The Wendy Williams Show, blatantly spoke out, stating that if Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had a successful marriage she would eat crow. Well, the marriage happened and has lasted, leaving Williams to make good on her promise on her early morning show this week. Check out the hilarious video, below.

Last season, Wendy Williams made a bet that Kanye and Kim’s marriage would not last more than 72 days. The number was not a random one. Seventy-two also happens to be the number of days Kardashian was married to NBC player Kris Humphries back in 2011. Apparently, Williams was willing to bet West and Kardashian’s wedding would be even more of a sham than Kardashian’s wedding to Humphries just a few short years ago.

Unfortunately for the poor early morning talk host, Kanye West and Kim Kardashian have now been married for well over three months. On the 114th day of their marriage, Wendy Williams hired a gourmet chef and made good on her promise, eating crow. Before delving in, Williams and the chef talked a little bit about the history of crow eating, noting that it’s crow hunting season in Utah and that there are clubs across the United States devoted to hunting and cooking the bird.

Because crow is a tough meat, the chef decided to put together a gumbo filled with plenty of other components, including but not limited to bacon fat, worcestershire sauce, peppers, onions, tomato paste and okra. Wendy sits down with the final product and actually eats a pretty big bite, stating that it tastes like “chicken liver” before downing plenty of water. Still, she says it’s “not so bad, although you may notice that she doesn’t take a second bite.

This is the face of a champion.

No one likes losing a bet, especially when the loss of that bet involves eating something icky, but I’m not sure what Williams was thinking when she began using that old crow expression in relation to Kardashian’s nuptials. Clearly, Kardashian and West are way more of a team than Kardashian and Humphries were. They even have a child and are building a life together. That never seemed to be the case during Kardashian’s short first marriage, and I’m not sure how Williams saw Kardashian’s marriage to West as a bigger fiasco than her former marriage. At the end of the day, she certainly paid for her opinion.

The Wendy Williams Show airs on weekday mornings. Check your local listings for times.
