Exclusive Helix Clip: Watch Alan And Peter Brawl In A Dungeon

If you aren’t caught up on Season 2 of Syfy’s madness-filled thriller Helix, then you’re missing out on one of the wackiest shows on TV. Episode 5, “Outbliette,” airs Friday night, and we’ve got an exclusive clip that will show you just how thin the bonds of brotherhood can be when a woman is involved.

In the clip, current CDC scientist Peter Farragut and former CDC scientist Alan Farragut – who is currently trying to pass himself off as one of Brother Michael’s sheep – have been thrown into a dungeon together after barely having any legitimate contact over the course of this series. (Peter spent most of Season 1 as a quasi-comatose victim of the Narvik virus.) To be expected, they aren’t breaking the ice by talking about the weather or the food that Brother Michael has on the weird ass island of St. Germain; they immediately get down to brass tacks, with Alan’s ex-wife Julia as the topic of discussion.

It’s an interesting time for this discussion, as the two brothers are currently involved in one of the more dangerous situations of their lives, but things get petty pretty quick. Alan blames Peter for breaking up his and Julia’s marriage with an affair, while Peter is pissed that Alan doesn’t understand that his marriage was already over. Meanwhile, Julia is 30 years into the future, killing her own father. That’s how it always goes, am I right?

But really, we see people talking all the time on this show. What’s awesome about this clip is that Peter and Alan actually go toe to toe with each other and get physical. Sometimes, the only way to display the kind of rage the siblings are feeling is to talk it out with fists. It might be the one without a proper solution, but it’s the one that works. And thankfully, they aren’t going to be bitterly trapped down there forever.

Here’s the synopsis for “Oubliette.”

Michael locks Peter and Alan in a pit. Alan escapes and discovers that Kyle has a secret of his own. Agnes reveals a shocking truth to Michael, who drastically turns on her for doubting him. In the future, Caleb uncovers Walker’s deception and takes matters into his own hands.

This season of Helix has topped its freshman season in many ways, and the series is one that fans are definitely enjoying on the weekends. This season is outperforming all other Syfy dramas when it comes to growth in Live + Same Day ratings to Live + 3 ratings. The perfect substitution for Saturday morning cartoons, no?

Tune into Helix on Syfy on Friday night for “Oubliette.” You can head to the next page for the full preview.
