Amazon Prime Is Offering Discounted Prices, Get The Details

In the wake of the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards that were a huge triumph for the website, Amazon is celebrating by temporarily dropping the price of Prime membership by $32 to entice new subscribers to join up. Of course, Prime’s Transparent nabbing the prize in a few – pardon the pun – prime categories has already captured a lot of attention, and the drop in price from a $99 annual fee to only $67 could be a reason for many to subscribe.

As it happens, however, those many will have only a short window to take advantage of the deal. The $67 price cut only lasts from 12:00 a.m. ET until 11:59 p.m. PT on September 25, so prospective subscribers will need to be sure to check in to Amazon to take advantage before the window closes. After all, Amazon Prime is one of the leading streaming services available online, and deals like this don't come along very often.

Unfortunately, the $99 price has been set for quite some time now, and the annual fee has been known to scare prospective subscribers away. Doing the math for services such as Netflix and Hulu Plus will prove that even the most basic packages equal around the same amount, but the monthly fee as opposed to the yearly fee can be more reassuring/easier to budget. Nevertheless, Prime has several advantages over other platforms that makes it well worth the price.

The Amazon Prime original programming is among the most celebrated in regards to streaming content. With an ever-growing library of original series that ranges from comedy to drama to programming for children, there’s something to stream for everybody. Prime also features a library of HBO shows that is unavailable anywhere else online. HBO series are generally such darlings of the awards circuits that non-subscribers can be left out of the loop; Prime offers the opportunity to catch up on the premium cable network’s programming without shelling out the money for the DVDs or paying HBO Now's monthly fees.

The Prime streaming options are not limited to television, original or otherwise. Films obscure and blockbuster alike can be found in the vast Prime catalogue of films. Hugely popular franchises such as Transformers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Star Trek, and The Hunger Games all have offerings available on Prime, and standalones such as Space Jam and I Am Big Bird just look too intriguingly unusual not to watch.

Prime is so tantalizing as a streaming service that it’s almost difficult to believe that subscribing opens a whole lot of other Amazon benefits to consumers. Free two-day shipping on more than 20 million items site-wide is a perk for online shoppers. There’s no limit to how often Prime subscribers can take advantage of this benefit, and the savings on shipping add up very quickly if you use the service regularly. It’s safe to say that holiday shopping is a whole lot easier with Prime.

Plus, the service even offers more than a million songs to be streamed for free. In fact, the library of music is so vast that subscribers would have more than enough to listen to as they explore the unlimited photo storage option that also comes with Prime. At the end of the day, Amazon Prime is a fantastic service for streaming video as well as other perks, and it's definitely worth popping in on September 25 to take advantage of the deal.
