Subscribe To Watch The Stranger Things Kids Ride In To Deliver Sandwiches At The Emmys Updates
Hollywood is incredibly far away from Hawkins, Indiana, but the kids from Stranger Things seem to be enjoying the transition. The ensemble of youngsters from the Netflix series completely stole our hearts during the first eight episodes of the hit show, and they continued to do so as soon as they made their way to the 2016 Emmys in signature bike-riding fashion. This video of the Stranger Things kids handing out PB&J sandwiches at the ceremony is as adorable as you would expect. Check it out below to see for yourself.
It's abundantly clear that the kids from Stranger Things had a blast attending the Emmys this year. Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, and Millie Bobby Brown once again donned the costumes of their respective characters -- Dustin, Lucas, and Eleven -- to help Jimmy Kimmel deliver peanut butter and jelly sandwiches (made by Kimmel's mother, of course) to the hungry award show attendees. As they rode in on their bikes, it felt like they time warped in from 1983 while they handed out the timeless snacks to the crowd. Even the catchy Stranger Things theme song played over the whole affair. It only makes sense that the crowd cheered them on as they gleefully rode up and down the aisles of the theater. I can almost guarantee you that no one at that ceremony had more fun than those kids.
Of course, Jimmy Kimmel kept the whole thing moving along perfectly by providing excellent color commentary the entire time. From mocking the widespread gluten intolerance of the Hollywood community to cracking an awesome joke about the affordability of EpiPens, the guy kept everything light, which probably helped the young performers considerably. He seriously has solid chemistry with these kids, and I wouldn't be opposed to a Jimmy Kimmel cameo on the next season of Stranger Things. Do they read Mean Tweets inside The Upside Down.
We've seen stunts like this at award shows before. Even at the last Academy Awards ceremony, Chris Rock similarly flooded the entire theater with excited Girl Scouts and attempted to sell cookies to all of the actors and filmmakers in attendance. However, this particular event stands out because of how well it taps into something that TV audiences have come to love over the course of the last few months. Stranger Things is a bonafide phenomenon, and the series owes much of its popularity to the charm of these kids.
Honestly, I cannot get enough of these Stranger Things stars, and this stunt at the Emmys just makes me want to watch Season 2 even more. We will keep you up to date with all of the latest and greatest news to come out of this year's Emmy ceremony (particularly the winners and losers) as more information becomes available to us.
