Jess And Luke Are Back Together In Brand New Gilmore Girls First Look Image

As we slowly head toward the month of November, there is a major TV event that fans have been looking forward to for years: new episodes of Gilmore Girls. The classic WB show has been airing in syndication since its unceremonious cancellation in in 2007, and hardcore fans are looking forward to new stories, as well as finally getting the closure the show deserves. And while we've yet to see a full length trailer for Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, a few new images were just released which includes the show's ultimate bad boy: Jess Mariano.

Everyone' favorite dysfunctional family (besides the Gilmores) are back with a vengeance. In this new still, we see Jess and Luke at Luke's having what seems to be an important conversation. In typical fashion, it appears that Luke is trying to give Jess a bit of advice or a reality check. Of course, Mr. Mariano has never been one to willingly accept help, and Milo Ventimiglia has the signature Jess grimace on his face.

So what could this conversation be about? Perhaps Jess' business and apartment in Philly are going under, and he needs to move back to Stars Hollow for a bit while he plans his next move. If Luke is living with Lorelai (fingers crossed) at her house, then Jess could easily take the old apartment and get back into the Hollow. Hopefully the denizens of the town will have gotten over his teenage delinquency- we hadn't seen him back in the town during his final appearances on the original series.

Another exciting and recently released image features a staple of Gilmore Girls culture: Friday night dinner with Emily.

Friday night dinner is still in full effect, this time with an extra special guest- Luke. Hardcore fans should be baffled by this image, as Luke never had a ton of luck within the Gilmore house. He was constantly ridiculed by both Emily and Richard for his profession and lifestyle, and things never really got repaired by the time Season 7 ended. So to see Luke present (albeit standing) at Friday night dinner is a pretty big deal. What exactly could this mean for the character?

At this point, I think it's safe to say that Luke and Lorelai are going to very much be a couple by the time Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life airs. We all knew they were supposed to end up together, so perhaps it finally happened and they got to get together, or possibly married (just not on June 3rd). And now that Richard has passed away, maybe Emily has opened herself up to new relationships and welcomed Luke into the family. Then again, this might just be wishful thinking.

It should be interesting to see how many Friday night dinners are going to be in the new season of Gilmore Girls. These dinners were often hilarious and wild events in the series, and fans would be remiss if it only happened once. Perhaps one dinner per 90 minute episode? Even that doesn't feel like enough.

Part of what makes Gilmore Girls so great is how the audience really feels like they know Stars Hollow, including all of its strange places and people. One recurring setting is the Black, White, and Read movie theater, and it looks like Lorelai and Luke will be going on a date there in the upcoming Netflix series. Now we just have to see if they have something besides Pippi Longstocking showing.

Now we have what will be one of the more somber plots in Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. In the above image we see the three Gilmores at a graveyard, probably to visit Richard's resting place. It's safe to assume that Richard's passing and the ladies' collective grief will be a heartbreaking aspect of the show, especially considering how actor Edward Herrmann passed away in real life.

And we end on something magical: snow. Lorelai has always been very fond of the snow, and we've seen her uncanny ability to predict when the first snow will happen. The winter episode of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life is sure to have tons of snowy moments, and while the weather is cold Lorelai and Rory are sure to melt our hearts.

Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life will be released in its entirety on November 25th, 2016 on Netflix.
