The Chances Of New Legends Of The Hidden Temple Episodes Happening, According To Kirk Fogg

Nickelodeon was the place to be for kids in the 90s thanks to shows like All That, Clarissa Explains It All, and Kenan & Kel. One of the best series had to be Legends of the Hidden Temple, which pitted regular kids against epic challenges that included everything from crossing a moat to trying to make it out of the Pit of Despair. Now, with the TV movie on the way, original host Kirk Fogg has come out and addressed the possibility of a Legends of the Hidden Temple reboot, saying this:

That's such a weird thing. I could never speak for Nickelodeon because I'm not up at the top making those decisions, but based on all the stuff I've seen on the feeds and comments on Facebook or Instagram, it seems like it begs for the show to come back. I think it would grab a lot of fans from that generation and new kids would be totally latched onto it, too. You could almost combine the two maybe, even do it as a family if you wanted to. The first thing they need to do is have a reunion, have all the kids from that generation who didn't make it through thef temple and have them give it another shot. So I'd be a big fan of it coming back, but like I said, I don't make those decisions.

Considering how few kids actually completed the Temple course without being nabbed by the temple guards, there are plenty of former contestants out there who might want a chance at redemption. Kirk Fogg's pitch to EW of a Legends of the Hidden Temple revival and reunion sounds pretty good. (That said, I don't know if Legends of Tomorrow could come back to television without some changes or a crossover episode.) The challenges were mostly harmless, but those temple guards were the stuff of nightmares for youngsters in the 90s. Who can say if the current generation can stand such scares?

The time has never been better for Legends of the Hidden Temple to possibly make a comeback. A Nickelodeon original movie based on the original game show will soon hit the airwaves, and Kirk Fogg will appear as the tour guide of a reenactment park built on top of an ancient temple. Good old Olmec will be on hand to help kids make it through the dangers afoot. Throw in the fact that television nowadays is filled with all manner of reboots, remakes, and revivals, and new episodes of Legends of the Hidden Temple could definitely happen.

We shouldn't start counting on seeing a revamped Temple set just yet, however. As Kirk Fogg pointed out, he doesn't have the pull at Nickelodeon to make a Legends of the Hidden Temple revival happen. We can only cross our big stone fingers and hope that the movie will create the right kind of buzz to get the wheels rolling on a reboot.
