Criminal Minds Is Heading To A New Cable Channel, And There Will Be Marathons

Criminal Minds has been going strong on CBS for over a decade now, and it has survived a number of cast changes and big plot shifts. Fortunately, fans will soon have access to more Criminal Minds than ever before each week. A whole lot of the series is coming to a certain cable channel for the first time. WE tv has acquired ten seasons of Criminal Minds, and marathons will begin airing sooner rather than later.

WE tv has acquired the first ten seasons of Criminal Minds, so viewers can look forward to the network taking them back to the very early days of the series. Episodes will begin airing on Saturday, December 16 with a block running from 10 a.m. to 5 a.m. ET. In the first marathon on December 16, WE tv will kick off with the sixth episode of Season 1 and just keep on going through the end of the first season, finishing with the second episode of Season 2.

The December 16 block of episodes won't be the only Criminal Minds mega marathon on WE tv, however. The network will continue to air "all-day binge-a-thons" on Saturdays, although not for quite as long as the first. On Saturdays following December 16, Criminal Minds will air from 10 a.m. to 1 a.m. ET. You can catch plenty of Criminal Minds on Mondays as well, as episodes will air through primetime to kick off the week. The Monday marathons will run from 4 p.m. to 1 a.m. Basically, there is going to be a lot of Criminal Minds action on cable in the not-too-distant future.

The WE tv marathons should come as especially good news to fans who have been missing some of the cast members who departed Criminal Minds in recent years. Thomas Gibson infamously left the series while Season 12 was filming after an altercation on set that reportedly got violent. He was fired from the series, and Criminal Minds went in some different directions to compensate for his absence. Not all fans were on board with a Criminal Minds that doesn't have Hotch in the spotlight (and he probably won't be coming back, according to the Season 13 premiere), but the show is still going.

Another big departure recently was Shemar Moore, who voluntarily left the series at the end of Season 11. Unlike Gibson, Moore has returned to Criminal Minds a couple of times since leaving the cast as a regular, and he landed a gig that has him starring on another CBS series right now, so fans haven't lost him from the airwaves completely. Still, the first ten seasons of Criminal Minds on WE tv should provide plenty of both Shemar Moore and Thomas Gibson in their heyday.

You can catch Criminal Minds on WE tv starting on Saturday, December 16 at 10 a.m. ET. Episodes of Criminal Minds on primetime air on Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS.
