See The First Look At The Royals Season 4

E! is bringing The Royals back in 2018 with a brand new batch of episodes, and the events of the Season 3 finale guarantee that we're in for no less drama and intrigue than we got in the early years. Fans have been waiting since way back in February 2017 to get a look at what's in store, and we finally have some footage of what's to come courtesy of a first look at Season 4. Take a look!

The preview only runs for 30 seconds, but it packs a fair amount of information. Kicking off with the royal family eating dinner, the tension escalates when the newly-crowned king Robert calls somebody a bitch, which prompts his mom to tell him to "walk away." Robert argues that he doesn't have to do anything she says now that he's "the goddamn king," which prompts Helena (played by the glorious Elizabeth Hurley) to fling a glass of wine in his direction. Oh, family.

The rest of the footage is mostly comprised of quick cuts that reveal the characters who will be back, although it's nice to see that Eleanor and Jasper will be on good terms for at least part of the season. All things considered, it's looking like we're in for what The Royals does best in Season 4. The new episodes will pick up following the coronation of Robert, who may be as duplicitous as he is charming. Liam and the recently-dethroned Cyrus form an alliance that few of us could have imagined in early days, and Helena will struggle with controlling her kids now that one of them is king.

The on-again/off-again relationship between Jasper and Eleanor will be officially on-again if Jasper has anything to say about it despite Robert's machinations, although they'll face what may just be the biggest obstacle of their relationship to date. We can look forward to plenty of anarchy within the monarchy, and the new season will kick off on Sunday, March 11. The digital companion series will return after the premiere as well, so fans will see more of The Royal Hangover as well.

Sadly, the March 11 premiere date means that fans will have had to wait more than a full year for new episodes, and it will probably be a while before news breaks of a renewal or cancellation. The announcement of the renewal for Season 4 came only days before the Season 3 finale, and the current controversy around the show could potentially mean E! bring the story to an end after Season 4.

Only time will tell. Season 4 of The Royals will run for ten episodes of one hour each and premiere on Sunday, March 11 at 10 p.m. ET on E!
