Mira Sorvino Is Heading To Modern Family For A Fun Guest Role

It's been a harrowing few months for actress Mira Sorvino. The Academy Award winner was one of the first women to speak out in the allegations against Harvey Weinstein, and is one of the main names constantly thrown around in reference to his reported sexual misconduct. This has no doubt been an exhausting time for Sorvino, but luckily we've finally got some new and exciting news. Mira Sorvino will making a return to television in the near future, as she'll have a guest role later this season on ABC's Modern Family.

Details around Mira Sorvino's Modern Family come to us from EW, which reports that she'll debut on the long running comedy January 17th. Sorvino will be playing newcomer Nicole Rosemary Page, who is a lifestyle guru that sounds like a spoof of Gwyneth Paltrow and her company Goop. The character's company will be subtly called Nerp, and it's where Hayley (Sarah Hyland) is hoping to work in the near future. It's once again time for Sorvino to use her comedic timing, and possibly change one fan favorite character's future in the process.

While Mira Sorvino is best known as a film actress, she's picked up a fair amount of small screen roles over the years as well. She was recently seen in two episodes of Netflix's Lady Dynamite and is set to star in the upcoming thriller Condor. Sorvino also appeared in guest spots on Will and Grace and Psych. She also famously played Marilyn Monroe in the 1996 TV movie Norma Jean & Marilyn.

Mira Sorvino is just the latest in along line of fantastic talent hat has showed up on Modern Family. The long running series is currently in the midst of its seventh season on air, and has already been renewed through its eventual Season 10. Some notable guest stars include Nathan Lane, Elizabeth Banks, Matthew Broderick, and Jane Krakowski. Sorvino has given fantastic comedic performance in movies like Romy and Michelle's High School Reunion, so she should fit right in with the fine company of actors.

Mira Sorvino's name is most closely being associated with the myriad allegations of sexual misconduct made about producer Harvey Weinstein. She was quoted in the New Yorker article that largely bust the story open, recalling the times where Weinstein attempted to pressure her into sex. She also believed that her rejection of Weinstein negatively affected her career, and is why she didn't continue working as much as she had in during the 1990's. Her father, actor Paul Sorvino, told TMZ today that he'd like to "kill that motherfucker", in response to the harassment and blacklisting claims.
