The Bill Engvall Show is a sitcom that stars Bill Engvall, who plays family counselor Bill Pearson. Pearson might be great at counseling other families on how to function but figuring out his own family is a whole other challenge. The series is set in a Denver suburb and tackles all of the normal mild family issues like drivers licenses, parking tickets and “allowance controversies.” Pearson and his wife have three kids. Lauren is a typical high school teenager. Middle-child Trent loves sports and video games. And the youngest is Bryan, the family genius.

In the season premiere, Bill tries to get the kids to clean the garage for free. The kids refuse and this causes Bill to take away their privileges. Meanwhile he and Nancy have issues with their cell phones.

Based on the premise of the series, this show seems like your typical sitcom – nothing more, nothing less. I haven’t actually seen any of the previous episodes of this series but the video clip (posted below) did make me laugh, so I might check it out. The series seems funny enough to watch if I were to catch it on some time while flipping through the channels but like most other sitcoms, I’m not sure I’d be willing to go out of my way to watch it every week.
