What To Expect From Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors, According To Tyler Posey

Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors Marvel Comics

Tyler Posey may no longer have Teen Wolf to call his television home, but the actor hasn't struggled with finding work since the series' end. Posey has a starring role in the horror film Truth or Dare, as well as a voice acting role in the upcoming digital superhero series (and eventual feature) Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors. Not a lot of information has been released on the project as of late, but Posey shared an update with CinemaBlend's own Conner Schwerdtfeger, giving Marvel fans an idea of what to expect.

It's really female-oriented. It's really cool. It's been really fun. My character is super angsty and edgy, which I don't really get to play too often. But it shows females being the hero, and kind of being the leaders of the group, and that's what we need right now. I'm super impressed with how it's turning out, because it's not forced. You know? It's perfectly natural and organic.

Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors' female focus likely means the spotlight won't be on Tyler Posey when the digital series makes its premiere, but he doesn't seem to mind that. Posey's female-oriented description matches up with previously reported information, which said the shorts leading up to the animated feature film will center on Spider-Gwen and her new persona Ghost-Spider, with Cameron Dove reprising the role. Posey will play the pyrokinetic brooding loner Inferno, who will appear at some point in the series, which has been planned for a six-episode run, with installments each clocking in around four minutes in length.

Those episodes won't give Tyler Posey an abundance of time for to showcase his voice talents ahead of the Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors feature, but the actor is hoping the shorts will lead to other opportunities for the franchise. As much fun as Posey has had voicing the character Inferno, he said he'd love to step in front of the camera to play the character:

Hopefully, they do a live-action of it too. I want to play Dante.

No official talk of a live-action Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors project exists at this time, but it wouldn't be too surprising, given the show's cast. In addition to Tyler Posey, the voice cast includes quite a few actors familiar with live-action Disney projects, such as the aforementioned Dove Cameron, Boo Boo Stewart, Skai Jackson, and Kamil McFadden. In fact, every major human character listed thus far is voiced by an actor with on-camera experience who looks similar to their comic book counterpart, so Posey might be onto something.

Fans can wish for a live-action version alongside Posey, but in the meantime, let's all take comfort in the existence of the Marvel Rising: Secret Warriors series and feature film. Both projects are set to premiere at some point in 2018, along with a whole bunch of other superhero shows that can be found in our superhero premiere guide.
