Kristin Cavallari began her on-camera career on the MTV reality series Laguna Beach, the same show that started the on-screen career of Lauren Conrad, who would go on to star on the spin-off series The Hills when its mothership series ended. With her new reality show Very Cavallari getting ready to premiere on E!, Cavallari is opening up about her experience in the early days of Laguna Beach, revealing how she felt after she watched the first season.

I didn't know what I was getting into. I was just going about my life and doing what producers were asking me to do. When I saw the first season, I was devastated about how I was portrayed. I came across as terribly bitchy. And I also felt as though my real-life boyfriend [Stephen Colletti] was being put in situations he normally wouldn't have been in. They were making it seem like there was this love triangle [with costar Lauren Conrad].

So there wasn't a real love triangle? Wow. Suffice it to say, Kristin Cavallari was not pleased with her MTV portrayal, made evident in her interview with People. Fans of Laguna Beach are unlikely to forget how Cavallari was presented on the show, as well as that supposed "love triangle," which soaked up and stirred a lot of the series' drama. Despite her feelings about her early reality show career, Cavallari went on to star in The Hills when Lauren Conrad left the show, thus leaving the lead role vacant after the first half of Season 5.

Kristin Cavallari's run on The Hills lasted for roughly a season and a half, ending when its sixth season concluded. As one would imagine, a lot has changed since the show ended in 2010. Cavallari married former NFL player Jay Cutler, and they have three kids together. Cavallari has also started her own brand entitled Uncommon James, which is the business that'll be the primary focus of her new E! series, Very Cavallari.

Kristin Cavallari's return to reality television will be different in more ways than one. Her new show will be her first big TV venture a wife and mother. Thanks to her new roles in life, Cavallari has a different sense of self. Now 31, the reality star looks back on the time when she was surrounded by cameras with a surprising amount of self-awareness, saying:

In my early 20s, I was a mess, and I was just trying to figure it all out, But now, being married and being a mom, I know I'm where I'm supposed to be. And it's a great feeling.

This new series sounds like it is going to be interesting, and it will give fans of Laguna Beach and The Hills a chance to check back in with Kristin Cavallari, who seems as feisty as ever, based on previews for the show. While fans wait to see if The Hills will actually get revived, they can catch up with at least one of the series stars, and it won't be too much longer before viewers catch a glimpse at the cast of characters at Uncommon James courtesy of Very Cavallari.

You can see Kristin Cavallari in her brand new reality series Very Cavallari when it premieres on E! on Monday, July 8, at 10 p.m. ET. For new and returning television shows, you can watch on E! and elsewhere, check out CinemaBlend's guide to TV's summer premieres.
