Ashlee Simpson Returns To Reality TV After 13 Years With Ashlee+Evan

Ashlee Simpson has made all kinds of headlines over the years, gaining fame for everything from her music career to her acting ventures to the lip syncing debacle on Saturday Night Live. Now, Simpson is returning to the reality television circuit for the first time since The Ashlee Simpson Show came to an end back in 2005, and she's joining forces with husband Evan Ross this time around. The first trailer for Ashlee+Evan has already been released. Check it out!

She's coming back! The trailer for Ashlee+Evan points to the married couple enjoying a happy and loving relationship, but they'll face some challenges as artists as Ashlee Simpson attempts to return to the music scene and bring Evan Ross with her. Simpson took time off from showbiz to focus on her son, and Ross has more experience with acting than music. They could have a wild ride ahead of them.

Ashlee+Evan will be a docu-series running for six episodes on E! starting this fall. The first episode will air for an hour, with the subsequent five installments lasting for a half hour each. Described as a "docu-drama," the show will follow the husband and wife duo as they "juggle their lives as soul mates, parents, musicians, and artists."

We'll likely have to wait until the series debuts in September to find out exactly what we're in for with Ashlee+Evans, but it's already clear that they'll be surrounded by some interesting personalities as they strive to make a break back into the music world. With lifelong friends in tow, Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross will be hard at work on writing and recording their very first duet album, which will be comprised of music as soulful and reflective as it is authentic.

Thanks to their very famous family members, both Ashlee Simpson and Evan Ross were exposed to the world of showbiz at a young age, and fans got a look at how showbiz impacted Simpson on personal level first due to her appearances on her sister's series Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica with Jessica's then-husband Nick Lachey, and then with her spinoff series, The Ashlee Simpson Show.

The Ashlee Simpson Show aired its final episode back in 2005, and a lot has changed in Ashlee Simpson's life in the years since, not the least of which were the births of her two children, her romantic ups and downs, and her marriage to Evan Ross. Longtime fans of Simpson should enjoy seeing how she has changed between The Ashlee Simpson Show and Ashley+Evan.

The good news for any who are already excited for Ashley+Evan is that they won't have to wait too terribly long for the show to kick off. The one-hour premiere will air on Sunday, September 9 at 10 p.m. ET on E! If you need some shows to watch for the weeks before the premiere, check out our summer TV premiere guide.
