The Hills Is Coming Back To MTV With The Original Cast, Take A Look

MTV saved a pretty big announcement for the 2018 VMAs. The Hills is returning! That's right, the drama of the original docuseries is making its way back to the airwaves by way of a revival! The announcement was made courtesy of a teaser trailer, and the revival has a name to fit its theme. The Hills: New Beginnings is the title. Get your first look at it below:

If that teaser did not bring back all of the nostalgic feels, nothing can. Just listen to that soft acoustic cover of Natasha Bedingfield's self-empowerment anthem "Unwritten" playing in the background as the camera sweeps over the majestic vistas of Los Angeles! The revival cannot get here fast enough. While we did not get to see any of the series' main players, devoted fans will probably recognize some familiar voices in the background. So, who is returning for the revival?

Well, MTV did not name names in their press release heralding the return of the series. The network did reveal that The Hills: New Beginnings will feature cast members from the original series. And their children and friends will join them. Like The Hills, the revival will chronicle the cast members' personal and professional lives as they soak up the sun living in Los Angeles. There will be new faces that will join the original cast.

Getting back to the original cast, we have no confirmation as to who is set to star in The Hills: New Beginnings. In attendance at Sunday's 2018 VMAs was Heidi Montag, her husband, Spencer Pratt and his sister Stephanie Pratt, all of whom played large roles on the originals series. Also in attendance was Audrina Patridge and her one-time boyfriend on The Hills, Justin Bobby. Brody Jenner's friend Frankie Delgado and Lauren Conrad's ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler were also there, per Deadline.

Them being there and participating on the revival are obviously not foregone conclusions, so you will have to stay tuned. Given that Kristin Cavallari is busy with her own E! reality show, it seems unlikely she will be among those returning for The Hills: New Beginnings. Of course, anything is possible.

News of a revival circulated a couple of months ago, so things have likely been in the works for a bit. Hills fans will have a while to wait for the revival to debut, but based on the teaser alone, it should be more than worth the wait. Let the melodic soundtrack and visual angst commence!

The Hills: New Beginnings is slated to premiere in 2019. Summer is not over yet. Check out the new shows still coming with CinemaBlend's summer premiere guide. For new television that will arrive this fall, check out CinemaBlend's guide to TV's fall premieres.
