Major Dad vet Gerald McRaney will return for the series' tenth season premiere, per EW. So, what exactly brings him back into the NCIS: Los Angeles action? Well, McRaney's return as Kilbride has to do with Season 9's explosive finale, in which we saw some of the results of the team's off-the-books mission in Mexico. As they was fleeing the cartel, the car everyone was traveling in got struck by a rocket, which obviously jeopardized the lives of Callen, Kensi, Sam, and Deeks.

With the Season 10 premiere picking up right after the events of the previous season's finale, you can expect to find Kilbride making his way to the L.A. offices to deal with the ensuing aftermath of what went down. The good news is that we already have a bit of a head start in knowing how the agents are doing. An early look at Season 10 showed Kensi in pretty good condition, while her colleagues were not fairing quite as well.

This picture of Kilbride interacting with a seemingly healthy Callen seems to indicate the latter is also in pretty good shape following what went down in Mexico. Of course, this could also be a flashback sequence of some sort. A description for the Season 19 premiere said the in-trouble group would be working to make contact with the team back in Los Angeles. Thankfully for them, Kilbride should be in the office alongside Nia Long's Mosely, trying hard to track them down. Will they be successful? You will have to tune in and find out.

Since NCIS: Los Angeles is bringing back Gerald McRaney's Kilbride following a multiple season absence -- he last appeared in Season 6 -- you have to imagine he will play a pivotal role in the episode. It is shaping up to be an exciting season, and everyone can find out what goes down with Kilbride on NCIS: Los Angeles when the new season kicks off.
