Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina Already Has A Season 2 Premiere Date and Teaser

Girl, that was fast. Almost like magic fast. Netflix just conjured Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 1 on October 26. Barely one month later, we already have a trailer and premiere date for Season 2 -- or, excuse me, Part 2. Suddenly it's Part 2, which suggests Season 1 was Part 1. Pretty soon they'll be going full John Wick and giving us Chapter 1, 2, 3. At any rate, Netflix just revealed that Chilling Adventures of Sabrina will return on Friday, April 5, 2019. As Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) notes, it's now a new year. So she has a new look, and some new romance drama ahead, among other things. For a show with so much dark magic and devil worship, fans are truly blessed this Christmas season. Not only do we have this super-quick turnaround for a second season, Sabrina is also getting a special Christmas episode on December 14.

"A Midwinter's Tale" is really a solstice episode, to fit with the witchy theme, but Aunt Hilda mentions watching Christmas movies, so it counts. That special holiday episode may be why Part 2 "only" has nine episodes as opposed to the 10 of Season 1.

Netflix had already ordered Sabrina for two seasons long before Season 1 premiered. So anyone grumbling about why Netflix didn't do this for their favorite show -- they could have, they probably just didn't order multiple seasons at once, and film those seasons back-to-back, like they did here.

So far, we not only have this Chilling Adventures of Sabrina Season 2 premiere date and teaser, we also know Mrs. Wardwell is getting a boyfriend. That not-so-lucky man will be played by Alexis Denisof of Buffy and Angel fame. How's that for supernatural cred?

Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has had an eventful run so far. It was created by the same showrunner who gave The CW Riverdale, and there was initial talk of Sabrina as a companion series on the same network. They are set in the same shared comic book universe. But instead, the much darker Sabrina moved over to Netflix.

Last month, the series was sued by The Satanic Temple for use of a statue in the first season. That lawsuit was ultimately settled, with the "unique elements" of the statue meant to be acknowledged in the credits of upcoming episodes. Melissa Joan Hart's Sabrina never had a problem like that! Other than that, though, Kiernan Shipka's Sabrina seems to be off to a great start. The show is already setting up love triangles and building a loyal fan base.
