Why Jersey Shore Family Vacation May Get The Situation Back Earlier Than Expected

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino was sentenced to prison for tax evasion at the end of 2018, and in January, began serving time. After that, it was believed he wouldn't be getting out until Friday, September 13, but one federal prison consultant is saying he could be getting released "any day now." This means Jersey Shore Family Vacation may be getting Sitch back for filming sooner than expected, though he's not quite out of the woods yet.

The news came from Dan Wise, who served 12 months inside prison and now acts as a consultant for clients headed to prison on what they should expect. Wise told the Asbury Park Press that The Situation is more than likely going to be transferred out of Otisville Federal Correction Institution (where he surrendered himself to authorities back in January), and will move into a federal halfway house for a couple of weeks before going on to home confinement.

From that point, The Situation will likely remain in home confinement until his sentence (which hasn't been a total bummer apparently) is at an end. One would imagine Jersey Shore Family Vacation will be able to resume filming with Situation while he's at home, and then of course, after his prison sentence is complete. Finally, things will get back to normal, right?

Well, it depends. Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino isn't entirely a free man after his prison sentence is up and will go through a period of probation which will come with some restrictions. As for what those restrictions may be, they can vary depending on the person, but we know that The Situation had to get special permission to leave the state in Season 1 of Jersey Shore Family Vacation. He may need to obtain permission again, and if that's struck down, he's stuck in Jersey.

But, this isn't necessarily the worst thing in the world, as a bulk of the cast still lives on the East Coast and are in relatively close proximity to the state. Ronnie (depending on what drama he has going on) could fly in from Las Vegas to film, and Pauly D could pop in or out depending on what's going on with his touring schedule. Staying in Jersey isn't ideal, but it's doable and far from the worst thing.

With that said, one has to wonder exactly how much time The Situation will want to spend with the Jersey Shore Family Vacation crew. He loves his friends, but at the same time, was only married to his wife Lauren Sorrentino a short time before heading off to jail. It's fair to say they really never got a chance to be newlyweds, and may want to take a break from filming just to get back to some normalcy for a bit.
