Big Brother Spoilers: Did Jackson Have An Unfair Advantage In Veto Competition?

Jackson Michie Big Brother CBS

Warning! The following contains spoilers for Big Brother 21. Read at your own risk!

It was a heart-wrenching night for Big Brother fans hoping things would work out for Cliff Hogg III and Nicole Anthony after rolling the dice and eliminating Tommy Bracco over Holly Allen. Nicole nominated both Holly and Jackson Michie for elimination, but it was all for naught as Jackson ended up winning the combination physical and mental comp and securing the veto that will make him the sole vote in the elimination.

It was a hard pill to swallow, but fans may have taken it all the same had Jackson not mentioned something during the live feeds that has many fans crying foul. Remember the footage of Jackson struggling and not fully understanding the competition? Well that was accurate, but what wasn't shown was that as Jackson was struggling, the production team was helping him along to understand the questions that confused him. For those who can't believe it, Twitter has the receipts.

In reminding Jackson he was understanding the question wrong, the combination mental and physical veto comp became more or less just a physical comp for Jackson. As Big Brother 21 fans are well aware, Jackson thrives in physical competitions, so that added help from the production team may have been why a Jackson who appeared to be floundering finished a few minutes ahead of Nicole who got 2nd place.

Could Jackson still have won the veto competition if he didn't get help from the production team? Sure, but it's something fans will never know now that it's out there. It's understandable people would think it unfair for production to help Jackson with the mental part, and maybe not throw a pity dodgeball or two on Cliff's behalf after he finished a full 20 minutes after everyone else. It was fair to let Cliff struggle on a physical level, but not Jackson on a mental level?

Now, before everyone gathers their pitchforks any more than the Twitter crowd already has, there are some things to consider. It's possible production helped clarify the questions to all contestants, which may be why none of the HouseGuests immediately pitched a fit after hearing about it. Of course if they did CBS would just cut the live feeds so viewers couldn't see the fallout, which has been another point of criticism against Season 21.
