Here's When NCIS' Pauley Perrette Returns To CBS With Her New Show Broke

Pauley Perrette and the cast of Broke in the pilot on CBS

She's baaaaack. Pauley Perrette is returning to TV for the first time since she left NCIS, and she's doing it pretty soon. Her new show is a comedy called Broke, and it will also air on CBS. The network (finally) recently revealed that Broke will air as part of the Thursday night comedy lineup that used to include The Big Bang Theory. Now it will be led off by Young Sheldon, followed by Man With a Plan, then Mom, and Broke.

It all starts Thursday, April 2 with Broke premiering at 9:30/8:30c on CBS.

Broke is a comedy about Jackie (Pauley Perrette), a single suburban mother who’s shocked when her estranged sister Elizabeth (Natasha Leggero) -- and her sister’s outrageously wealthy, big-hearted Latin husband Javier (Jaime Camil), and Javier’s fiercely loyal assistant/driver/friend -- all show up on her doorstep in need of a place to live. Turns out, the couple’s money dried up. According to CBS' description, though class differences separate the women, and the size of the house and the number of people living in it will test the limits of family ties, the familiar bond of sisterhood might be the catalyst they need to restore their relationship.

Here's the description for the April 2 pilot episode:

When an outrageously wealthy trust fund baby is cut off by his father, he and his wife move into her estranged sister's Reseda home, forcing the two siblings to reconnect.

Pauley Perrette is definitely excited about fans finally seeing this show she's been working on for a while now:

CBS shared a first look trailer for Broke back in May 2019, so we've been waiting for almost a year:

It'll be interesting to see if NCIS fans turn up to watch Pauley Perrette in this very different role. She is famous for playing Abby Sciuto from NCIS Season 1 through Season 15. She was very popular on the show across more than 350 episodes. However the circumstances of her departure have been clouded in confusion and drama, including some kind of clash with Mark Harmon. Perrette has tweeted some hints and outright allegations in the past. But it sounds like everyone has moved on since then, and she's certainly OK with returning to CBS.

Broke will premiere Thursday, April 2 from 9:30-10 p.m. ET on CBS. Meanwhile, NCIS is still going strong in Season 17. Keep up with everything premiering in early 2020 with our handy TV schedule.

Gina Carbone

Gina grew up in Massachusetts and California in her own version of The Parent Trap. She went to three different middle schools, four high schools, and three universities -- including half a year in Perth, Western Australia. She currently lives in a small town in Maine, the kind Stephen King regularly sets terrible things in, so this may be the last you hear from her.
