Kaley Cuoco's Harley Quinn Bites Off The Penguin's Nose In Bloody First Look At Season 2

harley quinn season 2 dc universe

During its F-bomb-filled first season, DC Universe's Harley Quinn once again proved just how much fun DC Comics properties can be when they're allowed to get explicit and take things over the line. Especially when Big Bang Theory vet Kaley Cuoco is dropping some of those F-bombs. Thankfully, the fun isn't over yet, with Season 2 already set to debut in April, even though Season 1 just ended in February. And now we've got our first doozy of a look at Season 2.

In the video below, fans can watch Kaley Cuoco's Harley Quinn facing off against The Penguin, voiced by Seinfeld and Jurassic Park favorite Wayne Knight. And if you thought both parties would come out of this ordeal with all of their body parts intact, you "nose" nothing. Check out the bloody fun!

I'm thinking he's going to need a bit of...penguin-plasty now. You know, instead of rhinoplasty. Because he's not a rhinoceros. Is this thing on? (taps microphone)

Wayne Knight's Penguin only appeared once in Season 1 for its second episode, but things definitely didn't get nearly as bloody for Oswald Cobblepot at the time. Seriously, biting someone's nose off is one of the most savage moves that Harley has made in this show so far. Not that Penguin didn't deserve it both before and after Harley's bat got destroyed. And not that she had any other moves to fall back on while being half-frozen to the ground.

The clip ends ominously, with a bloody-faced Penguin trying to track Harley down among all the smoke and debris in the room, and he's clearly nervous about it. You can almost smell his fear, assuming your nose wasn't also bitten off. Fighting with Harley is nothing to sneeze at, so fans should possibly be worried that The Penguin is going to get killed off in Season 2...until he's quickly resurrected in some way.

During Season 1 of Harley Quinn, fans watched as the always intriguing villainess went through an emotional ride following her split with Alan Tudyk's Joker, with Lake Bell's Poison Ivy serving as her best friend, her confidante, and maybe more. Not to get into spoilers, but Season 1 wrapped up in a pretty explosive way, and gave both Gotham City and the Joker new looks, in a manner of speaking. It definitely makes sense why the first look at Season 2 was a fairly limited look at a single altercation, as opposed to something more all-encompassing. After all, there are probably still some fans who haven't quite finished streaming Season 1 yet.

While the two situations are presumably mutually exclusive, it wouldn't be shocking to learn that DC Universe was taking a reverse note from the Disney+ playbook by premiering Harley Quinn's second season so soon after the first one concluded. Disney's streaming service has gotten flak from subscribers and more for leaving such a dearth of high-interest original programming in the many months after The Mandalorian wrapped up its first season.

Granted, there's no word on when Titans Season 3 or Doom Patrol Season 2 will debut on DC Universe, and the next big original series premiere will be Brec Bassinger's Stargirl, which kicks off on May 11. So it was probably a smart move for the streaming service to bring Harley back, considering how much fans love the show.

Check out Season 2 when it premieres on DC Universe on Friday, May 11. And don't forget that Harley Quinn will also return to live-action in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. Wouldn't it be cool to see Margot Robbie's Harley and Kaley Cuoco's Harley cross paths, in a Crisis on Infinite Earths kinda way?
