Family Of YouTuber Corey La Barrie Speaks Out After His Death And Ink Master Star's Arrest

Many families across the country were in celebration mode this past weekend, thanks to the arrival of Mother's Day. Unfortunately, Sunday night also brought some heartbreaking news for the mother of YouTube star Corey La Barrie, who died from injuries suffered in a car crash. La Barrie's mom and brother have shared emotional messages about losing him in the aftermath of the accident, which was allegedly caused by Ink Master vet Daniel Silva, who was later arrested for murder.

Taking to Instagram on Monday, May 11, Corey La Barrie's mother Lissa Harrison (Burton) posted a somber and woeful message about her son's untimely death. Read it below, as originally written:

My heart breaks right now, on my sons 25 birthday today he was very drunk and got into a car with a drunk diver. The accident killed him instantly. No words can describe the sadness I feel in loosening a child. It just feels so unreal and I’m overwhelmed with grief. I love you so much Corey and will miss you so so much. It’s just so unfair.

As noted by Lissa Harrison (Burton), more emotional fuel was added to the fire given that Corey La Barrie's had just turned 25 years old on Sunday. According to reports, La Barrie and his Ink Master friend Daniel Silva were had attended a party in or around Los Angeles earlier on Sunday evening, and were celebrating La Barrie's big day.

While it doesn't appear as if toxicology reports have been released, witnesses at the party alleged that the two men were drinking alcohol. That notion was also raised by Corey La Barrie's brother Jarrad La Barrie, who shared his own mournful message on social media.

This isn’t something i thought i would ever have to sit here and type out for a very long time or what i wanna do right now but everyone deserves to know, my brother Corey passed away last night in a car accident with his drunk friend driving... this is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do i dont how I’m suppose to do this without you i miss you so much already this isn’t fair thank you for always being the best big brother i could ask for i love you so fucking much life’s never gonna be the same without you R.I.P?? P.S say hi to grandad and grandma for me i love you.

Though the night may have started off with positive birthday vibes, things later took a turn for the tragic just after 9:30 p.m. local time. It's alleged that Daniel Silva was behind the wheel of a 2020 McLaren 600LT - which sells for over $250,000 – and was driving at a high rate of speed when he lost control. The LAPD reported that the vehicle went off the road before colliding with a stop sign and a tree located at the corner of Huston St. and Carpenter Ave. No other vehicles were involved.

Following the accident, which resulted in Corey La Barrie's fatal injuries, Daniel Silva allegedly left the vehicle and attempted to flee the scene, but was stopped by others who showed up to offer assistance. After the L.A. Fire Dept. showed up, both Silva and La Barrie were transported to a local hospital for medical assistance. Unfortunately, La Barrie's injuries proved to be too series, and he passed away in the hospital.

At some point after Corey La Barrie's death had been established, the LAPD arrested the 27-year-old Daniel Silva for murder. According to arrest records (via ET), he's being held in LAPD Valley Jail in Van Nuys, and his bond was set at $200,000.
