The Season 3 finale of Yellowstone is closer than ever, and Kelsey Asbille is talking it up in a way that is destined to stir speculation. Monica’s portrayer has described the season-ender as “the most jaw-dropping,” and that's not all. Trust me when I say fans will want to buckle up because it sounds as though it's going to be another gamechanger.

Kelsey Asbille’s Monica just came off a victorious episode of Yellowstone. In it, Monica, Thomas Rainwater, and Mo stopped the reign of terror unleashed by a serial-killing rapist targeting Native American women. But what's in store for the rest of the season? The Season 3 finale should be a stunner according to Asbille, who told Good Housekeeping:

The end of season 3 is the most jaw-dropping, and I'm wondering how they'll move forward. It's funny because Taylor (Sheridan) has always told us that he knows how the show is going to end and I'd love to know.

Yes, Kelsey Asbille is wondering how the show will “move forward.” That's a pretty ominous statement for the Season 3 finale. Or at least, I'm taking it that way. Does this mean Yellowstone is heading for a massive shake-up that resets everything? Will John Dutton lose the eponymous ranch, after all?

Anything is possible. From what Kelsey Asbille is saying, it seems there will be a considerable cloud of dust for Yellowstone to sift through when it returns for Season 4. All of this is just me speculating but, based on what Asbille is teasing, the Season 3 finale should reshape the way we view the series as a whole.

Yellowstone is about many different things, the most important thing being the ranch. I say this by drawing upon the midseason trailer for Season 3 and what has happened of late on the Western. So the Duttons losing the ranch or some of the lands around it is a real possibility. Perhaps Season 4 is about the Duttons getting it back?

The ranch is such a vital part of the show that losing it would be the only way I would question the show's future as Kelsey Asbille is. Well, that and a major death. I can't imagine Monica’s husband Kayce being a casualty, considering how integral he is to Yellowstone. Of course, the show has emphasized the danger he has been in lately.

For their part, Kelsey Asbille and Luke Grimes have both warned that fans should not rest too comfortably when it comes to Monica and Kayce’s relationship. I hope Yellowstone never tears them apart in a deadly manner because both are so critical to the drama.

But on Yellowstone, the sad truth is that you never know. My mind was pretty blown upon reading this quote from Kelsey Asbille, and I have so many questions! It sounds as though Yellowstone fans need to brace themselves for something that could alter the trajectory of the series. Like so many others, I'm both nervous and excited to learn what it is.

Find out how what Kelsey Asbille is talking about when the Season 3 finale of Yellowstone air Sunday, August 23 at 9 p.m. ET on Paramount Network. After the “jaw-dropping” finale airs, this fall’s premieres will arrive to help pick it up. You can watch Kelsey Asbille’s Monica in action during Yellowstone’s first two seasons on NBCUniversal’s new streamer, Peacock.
