Why Mila Kunis Teamed Up With Husband Ashton Kutcher For A Super Bowl Ad After Saying She Wouldn’t Work With Him Again

Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher in That '70s Show

Super Bowl LV is quickly approaching, and it'll be the first pandemic Super Bowl. Intermission entertainment for the defending champions Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers showdown seems to be taking a little bit of a different turn this year, though. Quarantined football fans will not be able to enjoy some of the usual suspects in this year’s round of Super Bowl commercials as Coke, Pepsi, and Budweiser are forgoing their typical show-stopping ad placements. Another surprising, albeit more positive, factor in this year’s super bowl advertisements is that Mila Kunis will be teaming up with her husband Ashton Kutcher in an ad after saying she really has no interest in acting with her husband anymore. So what changed her mind?

Although it’s not uncommon for married couples to act together, Mila Kunis has said that she really doesn’t see herself acting with Ashton Kutcher anymore. The couple both starred in That ‘70s Show for eight years and have appeared together a couple times in minor capacities but, now that they've been married with kids for a while, Kunis says she can see right through Kutcher’s acting charade and it ruins the aesthetic. Nevertheless, the couple is teaming up for a Cheetos commercial for the Super Bowl and Kunis tells ET that it was the humor of the ad that changed her mind. In the actress' own words:

It's so silly! Ashton and I, we never work together. I mean, I know we worked together before…And in the midst of quarantine, they sent us this ad to do and every time I've ever been offered a Super Bowl ad it's always a female having to be scantily clad. And this one comes around, I started laughing so hard and Ashton was like, 'This is kind of funny.' And I was like, 'We should do it!'

Both Mila Kunis and Ashton Kutcher are known as hotties with a wicked sense of humor. It makes sense that companies would try to get Kunis or even Kutcher to take off some clothes in the name of capitalism, and the lack of sex appeal may have warmed Kunis up to the Cheetos ad. The couple is seemingly a sucker for funny situations, though, and it will be awesome to have the pair channel their inner Jackie and Michael for a comedic reunion.

Even though Mila Kunis cites the commercial’s comedy for the reason she was on board, the sneak peeks that have been released don’t show much of that humor. There are two clips released, one of Kunis and one of Kutcher, and they both have a mysterious drama to them. It appears the two may even play themselves or at least a married couple in the commercial.

While we can pretty much take her word for it that the clips will be connected humorously, we'll be able to see for ourselves on Super Bowl Sunday. The big game will be broadcast on CBS and will be available for streaming on the NFL app on Feb 7th.

Until the big game, if you’re nostalgic for some Mila Kunis/Ashton Kutcher comedic gold, you can purchase. and stream That ‘70s Show episodes on Amazon Prime.
