Whoa, Mama June Shannon Spent An Insane Amount Of Money On Drugs The Last Year Before Rehab

Mama June Shannon We TV

Mama June Shannon is back on television, though this time around, the story isn't about her raising her family or her weight-loss journey. The Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo matriarch is back with Mama June: Road To Redemption, in which she attempts to make amends with her family after all the hardships she brought on during her years of battling addiction. Now, fans have learned just how series and seriously expensive June Shannon's addiction was, as indicated by the staggering amount of money she spent on drugs before her sobriety.

The Season 5 premiere of Mama June: Road To Redemption gave a glimpse into just how much of her money went to drugs during her pre-rehab relationship with long-term boyfriend Eugene "Geno" Doak. In a brief episode clip that showed the couple heading to rehab together, Doak first spilled some of the beans regarding what the two spent on cocaine in a six-month period.

In the past 6 months, we've spent $150,000 on cocaine.

That's a lot of cocaine, as well as a lot of money to spend on such a thing. It may also be more than June Shannon made altogether from her past few years of reality television, minus any potential royalties, as her daughter Lauryn "Pumpkin" Efrid and her husband Joshua discovered June and Geno had sold their possessions in order to get more money for drugs. Lauryn ultimately severed contact with her mother and took custody of her younger sister Alana "Honey Boo-Boo" Thompson as well. But the tidbit above was the powdery tip of the iceberg.

While $150,000 towards cocaine sounds like more than enough justification for June Shannon's family to distance themselves until she got clean, that apparently wasn't even a quarter of what she and Geno Doak actually spent on such intoxicants. Shannon spoke to Access Hollywood about her addiction and revealed the actual number they spent on drugs including the cocaine was much, much higher.

And just spending, like I said, massive amounts of money. I would say the last year of our addiction, probably [as much as] $900,000 and that's so much money sent to our dope-man.

Now, in the latest season of Mama June: Road To Redemption, June Shannon and Geno Doak were shown emerging from rehab six months sober and hoped to get back on track with family and friends after some constructive time away. A preview for the season ahead has already teased things won't be all that simple, as undoing the damage done to their families and maintaining sobriety will be a challenge for Shannon and Doak going forward.

Mama June: Road To Redemption airs on WEtv on Fridays at 9:00 p.m. ET. Tune in to see how June's recovery shapes up and whether or not she'll successfully rekindle her relationship with her family.
