Spoilers for The Masked Singer lie ahead.

The Masked Singer Season 5 has been a wild ride, as viewers witnessed the greatness of Super 8. With the competition heating up, Episode 7 marked a shocking twist, as both Seashell and Crab were eliminated. While it was sad, fans finally figured out the voice behind Seashell was actress and host Tamera Mowry-Housley. Although Mowry-Housley was great, her time on the singing competition was emotional, as she admitted to crying multiple times while performing.

While Tamera Mowry-Housley gained fame as an actress, singing has always been her second love. The actress and her twin sister, Tia, were in a singing group before they shot to fame through the classic '90s sitcom Sister, Sister. So participating in The Masked Singer wasn’t too far of a stretch for her but, after not singing for decades, she was a little scared about doing the Fox series. Mowry-Housley said about her fears of singing on a stage again:

For me, it was about facing the fear, not hiding anymore, tapping into something that I have loved to do for years and just going for it, taking that big leap of faith. I was shaking in my boots, literally — Seashell had boots. I cried multiple times because there were moments I wanted to run the opposite way, because I hadn't performed in over 20 years. And you are brought into this whirlwind. It was me up against the girl that was afraid to sing, afraid of what people would say, afraid of the critiques, afraid of even succeeding. Every single time I made it to the next round, I was like, "I'm going to do this all over again!" But it was such an amazing journey, and I am a different person because of it. I'm stronger. I had the best time.

Tamera Mowry-Housley’s time on The Masked Singer proved her voice is still in top condition. As a Sister, Sister fan, it was nice to hear Mowry-Housley grace the world with her beautiful voice once again. The actress didn’t have much to worry about, as she effortlessly showcased her versatility through her song choices and vocal styles. In the process, the actress proved she could hold her own against the likes of Black Swan and Piglet.

During her People interview, Tamera Mowry-Housley revealed it was her dream to grace the world with her voice once more. She admitted to giving up on a potential singing career to focus on her booming acting career in the '90s and 2000s. With Mowry-Housley's desire to sing once more, it's a good thing Fox's reality competition show waas able to give her an outlet to express herself.

Needless to say, the competition was a full-circle moment for Tamera Mowry-Housley. Getting to sing again was one of many opportunities Mowry-Housley wanted to take on after leaving The Real last year. Looking at how far she went in the competition, her risk-taking certainly paid off. Despite the actress’s elimination, there is still amazing talent to root for, as The Masked Singer rolls into the Special 6. Viewers can catch the Fox series every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on Fox.
